Merida Brass Monkeys R1: Venue Change to Checkendon
by Jane Lucas, 11 Nov 15.
Due to widespread, ongoing Army training manoeuvres across the area, we have this week been told that we cannot now use any military land at all for Merida Brass Monkeys Round 1 this coming weekend.
We have therefore had to try and source some non-military land at very short notice - with insufficient time for the usual official pre-application paperwork that is required at most venues. We have been greatly helped in this by Steve Jones of Banjo Cycles and, as a result, Merida Brass Monkeys Round 1 this Sunday will now be held at Hammonds Farm, Checkendon which is a privately owned established mtb venue.
It is halfway between Wallingford and Reading on the A4074 and the nearest postcode is RG8 0QT.
Although we envisage a shorter course than usual for a Merida Brass Monkeys event, the team will ensure that you have an enjoyable opener to the Series. As you can imagine, we have had an extremely difficult, uncertain couple of weeks and we appreciate your understanding.

Sorry everyone, but we have had to CANCEL this weekend's Autumn Classic at Frith Hill as we have been informed that we are now unable to use the venue and no other is available at short notice. We're gutted as we've only ever had to cancel a handful of events and apologise for any disappointment/inconvenience caused. All riders entered will be emailed. Crowthorne Wood on 1st November will be our next event.
TrailTrax Cheriton - Results and Final Series Points
by Jon Lucas, 21 Sep 15. Results [ 1» ]
The final TrailTrax of 2015 was set amongst the idyllic surroundings of The Flower Pots in Cheriton, with the weather bright and cool throughout the day. There were fantastic numbers in the solo female category especially which is encouraging to see, and overall the events continue to attract good turnouts. We are very grateful to Mountain Trax of Wokingham for their continued support and providing product prizes. The final series points amassed over the events were calculated with awards given to the individuals in their respective categories, some of those are: Jo Scott won the female rider category, Dave Brothers won the Vets, and Mark Humphrey was the Overall Winner with some superb riding over the 4 Rounds. Well done one and all.
You can put the maps away now and look forward to our Test Valley Tour Challenge on the 4th October at Andover, or try something different in the form of the Autumn XC races or Merida Brass Monkey Enduros, full details on the Gorrick website.
