by Jane Lucas, 23 Apr 24.
ENTRY IS OPEN NOW
It's not long now until our much anticipated TORQ 3-6-9 event which offers you a great choice of categories with up to 9 hours riding for Solos, Pairs & Teams plus a Single Speed category. Yes, it's at Minley, so you can expect a superb XC endurance course with all the good bits in, that's been well-prepared by our experienced team.
It'll be a great day out with full event facilities including a TORQ Arena, top quality catering open all day, live results screen and an event photographer. It wouldn't be a TORQ Gorrick event without the great TORQ prizes and iconic Four4th Lights trophies we'll be giving out at the podium gatherings. Plus everyone loves dropping their number board into the killer prize draw bin, which gives all riders a chance of a great spot prize from our supporters like Vittoria Velotech and Iron Sally Coaching.
Although there won't be camping at the venue, if you are travelling a fair distance then Little Bramshot Farm Camping (contact 01252 810400) is adjacent to the venue.
HOW IT WORKS
Well it's got all the excitement of a TORQ in your Sleep event but over one day.
Registration will open at 8am for the collection of your number boards and Pairs/Teams confirmations. It will then close at 10am but re-open 11.30am to 12.45pm for the 6hr riders.
The course will be open for pre-riding from 8.30am. You'll be able to set up your rig in the Feed Zone before the mass starts at: 9.50 for all 3hr riders and then 10am for all 9hr riders and 1pm for all 6hr riders.
Those competing as part of a Pair or Team will be given a wrist band which the rider on the course wears and then hands over to the next rider at the designated Transition Zone. It's up to you who does which laps and when, but laps do need to be completed before the time cut off to count.
There'll be 2 podium trophy and TORQ Fitness prizegivings, one for the 3hr riders about 1.30pm and the other for the 6hr and 9hr riders at about 7.30pm, followed by the Killer Prize Draw where everyone has a chance of winning a tasty prize.
